One hundred years of business done, Wynndel Box & Lumber has a limitless future ahead
Earlier this year, Wynndel Box & Lumber (WBL)—located in the small community of Wynndel in southeastern B.C.—quietly turned 100 years old. The home page of the company’s website currently displays a countdown clock that is ticking down the seconds until Friday, August 16 at 10:30 a.m., when the company will welcome the public to a celebratory open house. Members of WBL’s board of management and several local dignitaries will be present at what Darryl Dewald, IT co-ordinator for WBL, described as “a dignified birthday party.” Tours and refreshments will be offered and memorabilia will be on display.
On September 14, a private celebration will be held for the company’s almost 100 employees along with members of the Wigen family, which founded the company four generations ago.
